Blog 2 jigsaw ?

"How does Junior change throughout the novel? What do you consider his most significant changes and why?"

Junior used to be a deamer and did not take action in the beginning of the novel. On page 6 Junior says, "So i draw because i feel like it might be my ony real chance to escape the reservation." Junior never states his plan of how he is going to get his drawings out there for others to see. How could he if every one is drunk and he is stuck in some poor dead end school? Later on in the book you see his drawings are not what get him out of the reservation, but taking action and wanting to further his education gets him toward the path of getting off the reservation.
I consider Juniors most significant change to be grasping self confidence. In the beginning of the novel he talks about himself as if he is a true retard. Through out the novel you see Juniors confidence grow. For example when he scores Penelopes heart, stands up to Roger, and when he makes the varsity basketball team. When Junior has his interview with the reporter is great showing of his new found confidence.

Blog entry 1.

my first impression of junior is he is a little insacure but also blunt, strong minded when he needs to be, and a realist. Junior sees him self as a poor ass reservation kid. People on the rez see him as a retard/punching bag. I have never kept a diarie so i have no experiences with them. I think junior keeps one because he really does not have any one to talk to about this stuff. If he talked to his only friend Rowdy about it he would get the crap beat out of him. I think Junior emphasizes that it is "absolutely true" because he is so strait forward and out spoken he does not need to lie.

For negotiating hard times i use skatboarding and photography as lifeboats. Skatboarding simply keeps my mind off what ever subject i am dealing with and photography relaxes me.

A quote that i find interesting is "Dont get me wrong. I dont have anything against my mothers womb. I was built in there, after all. So i have to say that i am pro-womb. But i have zero interest in moving back home, so to speak" (Alexie 27). I like that this is a example of how Junior is out spoken. I have never heard any one talk about moving back home to their mothers womb.
